The film
Four centuries in ninety seconds: from a handshake on the Amsterdam quay to one market moving in microseconds. The Games start where the film ends.
Four rounds on three dates. Every society plays the qualifier together, the campus final on its own campus, and sends one champion to world final day, where a final qualifier fills the ten seats at the final table.

Your society hosts one sitting at a time it picks, when most of its members are available. Everyone plays at once, around an hour, together in a room you book. Every result counts on one global standing and a ranking inside your society.

Your top fifteen, in person on your own campus, one session of around three hours on a day your society picks. One full table, an audience in the room, and exactly one society champion. Take photos and send them to us.

Society champions only. First a final qualifier online for the ten seats. Then the final table, around two hours, with a trader on the desk calling it. One world champion.
2026 edition
Confirmed societies carry their name. The others are seats already taken in cities that will be announced as their boards sign off.
Amsterdam Investment Club plays too. In the Netherlands without a society in the Games? You play with us on Tuesday 13 October.

Leaderboard
One leaderboard, worldwide.
Every qualifier result lands on one world leaderboard, kept on Market Making Games, the platform the Games are played on. It fills up after every sitting, and when the October window closes on 25 October it becomes the record of the 2026 edition.
Every qualifier, every player, one world table. Updated after each sitting.

Your sign-up link and the invite code
Your society gets its own sign-up page, and it works even before you have booked: players who sign up early get the date from us by email as soon as you pick it. Share that link with your members through your own channels, and tell them when your sitting is: we never contact your members ourselves. Everything else happens on your society page, one private link with two tabs: Your society (who signed up, requests, announcements, your room) and Booking (book or move your sittings). Lost the link? Use "Email me my link" on your sign-up page. Every sign-up comes to you as a request, members included, and you approve or decline each one on your society page (you can also choose to take members only). Do you also want players to fill in your own form? Add its link on your society page: players sign up with us first, then see your form, and you approve the ones you accept. Everyone who is in gets your private invite code from us by email three days before the sitting, and anyone approved later gets it straight away. You receive the code too, so you can also pass it on internally. Never post the link or the code on LinkedIn, Instagram or other social media: anyone who has them can join your tournament. Everyone who plays your qualifier must be able to come to your campus final in person.
Part two · For players
Pick the line that fits you. Every player needs a society sitting to play the qualifier.
A
Your society hosts one qualifier sitting and shares its sign-up link through its own channels. Sign up there: your society's organiser approves every sign-up, and once you are in, your invite code comes by email three days before the sitting. No link yet? Ask your society's board, and check the calendar for the date.
B
Play with Amsterdam Investment Club. Tuesday 13 October 2026, 20:00 to 21:30 CEST, about an hour of play, free. Online from your own laptop, or in person at UvA Roeterseiland, room A1.03, with Trading Interview in the room.
Register on the event page. The join details and a reminder come by email before the evening.
C
Ask your quant, trading or finance society to apply: one organiser and two sittings is all it takes. Or play with a society near you: in the calendar, click Request to join on its qualifier. Its organiser decides, and you confirm you will travel to its campus final in person, at your own cost, if you make the top 15.

How to join
From account to first game. The same steps for every sitting, wherever you play.
Create your account on Market Making Games, the platform the Games are played on. Do it before the day.
Sign up through the link your society shares, or click Request to join on a sitting in the calendar. Not sure you are on one? Check your sign-ups. Your society's organiser approves every sign-up. Once you are in, your private invite code comes by email three days before your sitting, or straight away if you are approved later. Your society can also give it to you directly. Playing with Amsterdam Investment Club? It comes by email before the evening. Keep it to yourself: never post it.
Go to marketmakinggames.com/lobby. At the top of the page, enter the invite code and click Join.
You can join any time before your tournament starts. Once it has started, nobody can join any more.
About an hour of play in a ninety minute block, everyone at once. Use a laptop on power, a stable internet connection and a quiet place, so a dropped connection does not cost you a round.
Your score goes up on the world leaderboard on Market Making Games after your sitting. The top fifteen of each sitting hear about their campus final.
Something not working?
Ask your society's organiser first: they are in touch with us. Playing with Amsterdam Investment Club? Write to contact@amsterdaminvestmentclub.com. Not sure which sitting you are on? Check your sign-ups and we email you the list.
Prepare
Every society plays the same games, in the same order, on the same settings. Practise the ones in your next round first.
01 · 1 to 25 October
03 · Saturday 12 December
What they test
Speed, quick mental maths, probability and risk taking, against people who are just as competitive as you. The games are the formats quant trading firms use in interviews, so the practice counts twice. Read the rules of each game on Market Making Games before your sitting.
What you will play
Every game runs on the Market Making Games platform from Trading Interview, built around the formats quant trading firms use to see how a candidate thinks: quoting under time pressure, pricing, probability.

01
Make a market on a fact or a guesstimate: quote a bid and an ask, adjust it as the news lands, and trade against the room. The classic interview exercise, played live.
Play it on Trading Interview →
02
Quote your own spread and trade on everyone else's while the hidden cards reveal one by one and you work out what the others hold. Both sides of market making in one game, fifteen seats at a table.
Play it on Trading Interview →
03
Spot the mispricing between an ETF and the stocks inside it and trade it before it closes, through price moves, news and competing traders.
Play it on Trading Interview →
04
Break a big estimation problem into simple factors and land the right order of magnitude. Scored on how close you get, on a log scale.
Play it on Trading Interview →
05
Spot mispriced odds in dice, card and coin bets and size each one to grow the bankroll. Probability and Kelly sizing, under pressure.

06
Higher or lower, inside or outside: call the next card and size the bet with the Kelly criterion to grow the balance without blowing it.
Play it on Trading Interview →
07
Price baskets of fruit against the quoted spreads by computing the cross products fast. How many profitable trades you get through depends on your mental maths speed.

08
Mental arithmetic against the clock. The speed and accuracy every other game here depends on.

09
Trade a live marble football final in real time: quote the product of the two team totals, then take the one-shot side bets as the goals go in.
Play it on Trading Interview →Every society plays the identical set, in the identical order, on the identical parameters. Which games come in which round is just above. Each card opens the game on Market Making Games, where the Games are played; the same games live on Trading Interview as interview practice. Club code AIC-10 takes 10% off both.
